Freedom For Fourteen

Jesus said: “The sower sows the Word.” Mark 4:14

Through the pandemic, hiring became a struggle. Many people were content to be safe, stay home, and see how the near future panned out. As this happened, families also experienced more stress and trouble as home life, work, and school all collided under one roof in a way they had never experienced before.

As the pandemic begins to feel like a bad dream, parents look at their sons and wonder where the happy, pre-pandemic kid has gone.

Rock Solid Refuge has enough beds for 14 students, but the student population has yet to reach that number. The biggest hurdle isn’t bringing more students into the program. Ever since Rock Solid Refuge’s grand opening, we have had a waiting list of students needing help. Having enough Youth Care Workers to ensure that we can safely and effectively support so many troubled teens is the greatest struggle. These are the sowers of Mark 4:14. Freedom for Fourteen our deep desire to fill every available bed with a student, but we need your help.

We understand that giving a donation towards staffing needs isn’t as glamorous as moving a new building, refurbishing the workout gym, or building a sports pad: but this is the most critical aspect of our program. More than anything, this makes a difference in the lives of struggling teens: That they could have the support, role models, and relationships necessary to experience real, lasting change.

It’s not the gym or the facility or the horses that change a life, it’s God working through the people that He has brought together to love and care for some of Canada’s toughest teens. Everything else supports and facilitates it, but this… this is what the ministry of Rock Solid Refuge hinges on: the sowers in the field. Students who are walking through the darkest hour of their lives need the Word sown in their lives. It is these sowers, these Youth Care Workers, who are bringing the light of Christ into the hearts of hurting boys and showing them that, through God, restoration is possible.

It’s not the buildings or the activities that Rock Solid students remember - it’s the relationships. It’s how they felt God’s presence through the staff.

Join us in this work and make a special gift today to support the teens at Rock Solid Refuge by giving them the relationships they need. Help sow more seeds. Help give these crucial relationships to the teens at Rock Solid Refuge in 2023.

We hope that this content has been informative and helpful. It is our desire to help families and bring struggling teens back together. We encourage you to share this information with others who may be in need.

Our ministry is primarily funded by our supporters, both individuals and churches, who partner with us to bring about restoration in these young men's lives. To join them in supporting Rock Solid Refuge and our ongoing ministry, please click here to donate!
