Equine Assisted Learning
How do body language, tone, and your emotional state affect your relationships? To most adults, the answer seems obvious. To struggling teens, the answer is far less clear. It’s easy for them to dismiss another’s trepidation as simply not being given a chance. “They don’t like me because they don’t get me.”
Horses give immediate, honest feedback. If the student is emotional, careless, or otherwise unsafe, the horse simply withdraws. This is a powerful lesson: Relationships require trustworthiness.
Help teach this critical lesson by supporting the Equine program through giving towards these needs:
Grooming Supplies - $50
The students don’t just ride the horses, they care for them. Various scrapers, brushes, combs and other equipment is used to ensure the horses are clean and healthy. Your support means students take an active role in caring for these beautiful creatures.
Riding Gear - $500
Saddles, bridles, stirrups and other tack are critical equipment that needs to be comfortable for both horse and rider. This ensures they may establish a relationship without the distraction of pain and discomfort. Your gift helps build this relationship and develops emotional regulation.
Riding Arena Sand - $5,000
Dirt, when dry, becomes hard & packed down and sloppy & muddy when wet. A sand covered arena provides a safe, reliable riding experience for both the horse and the rider regardless of weather. Your gift helps create a place where students can learn and grow with confidence.
Horse Trailer - $30,000
Not all horse care can take place on site. When a horse is injured, or just needs to be moved a larger distance, a well equipped trailer allows that without undue stress or risk. Your gift ensures that the horses are well cared for.
