Do not fear, for I am with you.
Isaiah 41:10

Dear Lord,
You often tell us not to fear. That we need to be strong and bold. This can be incredibly hard when it’s my own family that I am concerned for. Please, be with me just as You promised Isaiah, and be with my child as well.

Teach me not to fear. Teach me to trust and guide my mind in the way of peace. Give me Your strength to not fear, and when fear comes on me, help me to throw my fears onto You. I know that fear can be a positive thing, showing us where something is not right, but I ask that You would help me to put these fears in Your greater context. That I wouldn’t be overwhelmed by them.

You are the God who created the universe. The God who has power over nature and governments and idols. You are strong and trustworthy, even in dark times. You know the troubles of my heart, and, as Christ calmed the sea, I pray that You would calm my heart.

I give all my fears over to You not so that I may ignore the pain, but so that You can work and guide me through this time of sorrow and pain.
