Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.
2 Corinthians 1:3-4
Dear Lord,
Thank You that You are the God of comfort! You are here with me, comforting me in my affliction. Send me people who have experienced similar things to this. Please let me accept their words of hope and grace with humility and not reject them in my sorrow.
You are kind and compassionate when the world seems so dark and uncaring. Every day, people go about their lives oblivious to the pain and struggles that I and my family are facing. Please, Lord, be my comfort when the world seems to leave me behind. You are the only thing that truly lasts.
In all my trials and struggles, I pray that You prepare me for the day when I am able to be a comfort to others. That when someone who is experiencing similar pains and circumstances comes across my path, that You would open my heart to them and bring them comfort and healing as You are doing for me, now. Help me to see them and see Your will in that time.
For now, however, I pray that You would continue to comfort me, Father of compassion and God of all comfort. Help me stand when all I want to do is crumble.
In Jesus name, Amen.
