I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.
Romans 8:18
Dear Lord,
It can be hard to believe this verse, Lord. The present sufferings, especially those related to a child, can be so overwhelming. I pray that You would make this verse clear in my mind and in my heart. That the pain of this world, and of this circumstance, is temporary.
The glory that You have promised through Your Son is beyond compare. That glory is unending.
The present still hurts, Lord. I’m still in the midst of trial and pain. I ask today for a glimpse of that glory, Father, that I can endure this pain in increasing faith and certainty. Even if I am not given that glimpse, I pray that You, in Your mercy, would strengthen me and uphold me in Your mighty hand to press onward and find peace in this promise.
Thank You for Your love and faithfulness. Help me to respond with purity in my motives and actions. Keep me from stubbornly insisting on my own way. Empower me to honor You humbly, gratefully, and joyfully.
Thank You for who You are and the promise of what is to come.
In Jesus name, Amen.
