“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Matthew 11:28-30
Dear Lord,
I give over to You the pain and hurt that sometimes feels overwhelming, and I ask that You would give me Your peace. I’m tired of holding onto all this pain. All this hurt.
I do not want to be completely unburdened, Lord, but ask that You would take it from me and in its place, You would place Your yoke upon me. Help me to lean on You and trust in Your strength to carry me through these impossible times.
Draw me closer to You, Lord. Keep me by Your side that we might endure this together.
I acknowledge that I am weak and burdened. Lord, I need Your rest. I need Your strength. Help me to learn from You, even in and through my circumstances. When I want to give up, Lord, help me to push through and to persevere for Your glory. Help me to love and to show Your love to my children, especially when it’s hard.
Thank You for being with me and sharing this burden.
In Jesus name, Amen.
