Abraham looked up and there in a thicket he saw a ram caught by its horns. He went over and took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering instead of his son. So Abraham called that place The Lord Will Provide. And to this day it is said, “On the mountain of the Lord it will be provided.”
Genesis 22:13,14
Dear Lord,
The Bible calls You “Jehovah Jireh”, “The Lord Will Provide”. I come to You and ask for Your provision today. I ask that You provide food and rest for my heart. For my soul. That You would provide peace in the midst of my trouble.
You alone know just how lacking I am, Lord. You know, even better than me, how much more I can handle. I pray that in the moments when it would seem like all that is left is for me to break, You would provide me with the strength and grace I need to endure.
Just as You provided a ram for Abraham, I pray that You would provide for me and my family a path forward. Lord, it feels sometimes like the way ahead is impossible. Like You have put before me a trial that is too great for me to bear. But I know that You are Jehovah Jireh, and that You will provide.
Thank You that You are Jehovah Jireh, and that You do provide. You have provided for me and for so many others in the past, and I trust that You will provide today, as well.
