Give a meal that matters!
When Jesus fed the 5,000, he didn’t just send them on their way after lunch! He spoke to them and gave them the bread of life in additional to the loaves and fish. Your gift today is going to feed these young men with not just bread, but with the bread of life. Your gift nourishes body and spirit, and God will multiply even the smallest gift of loaves and fishes given in faith. Your gift is a meal that matters!

I remember answering the phone one day and being told by our kitchen manager that there was a problem.
“Dallas,” I was told, “we have a bottomless pit.”
Well, I had to go see it for myself! I promised the kitchen manager I would be there shortly and arrived soon after lunch had begun. Imagine my surprise, then, that it wasn’t one bottomless pit that we had, but eight of them! Eight bottomless pits which, no matter how hard you tried, never seemed to be filled up.
Of course, you’ve likely realized by now that I’m talking about the students at Rock Solid. These young men can eat what seems to be an entire mountain of food only to turn around and look up at me like Oliver Twist asking for more! If you’ve ever seen a teenage boy eat, you know what I’m talking about.
Keeping growing boys fed is a task that requires an incredible amount of love, patience… and stoves! In fact, the very stoves that we use to cook, bake, broil, grill, fry, steam, and sauté day after day are starting to look like a funhouse mirror of their original selves - battered, scorched, and holding together out of pure stubbornness. (And some days, I know the feeling!)
These stoves have been through a lot, but they need to be replaced. Your generosity is what ensures that these young men never go hungry. Your generosity means that they have a warm meal and a place where they feel loved and cared for.
While filling a “bottomless pit” may seem impossible, the truth is that mealtimes are about more than caloric intake! Mealtimes are meant to be a time for conversation, community, and connection.

Your gift will help ensure that the students at Rock Solid Refuge are fed and well cared for during their time in the program. No more Oliver Twist faces at the dinner table!
To meet this critical need, we are asking for your help to raise $75,000 to cover the replacement of the stoves and our annual grocery budget, as well as other essentials like a new (to us) industrial dishwasher.
Don’t let these bottomless pits go hungry, give a meal that matters today!
