Financial Update - January 2021
First off, thank you for 2020! What an incredible privilege it is to partner with you in this work restoring adolescent lives.
At the start of 2020, we had a goal to raise 1.2 million dollars to operate this ministry with some of Canada’s most difficult teens.
When Covid-19 hit, and everything shut down, we, like so many others, were in a place of uncertainty. We were blessed to be deemed an essential service, and, more than that, God was faithful to us in providing through you, our donors, the funds necessary to continue this work.
Though 2020 started with a lot of uncertainty, by the end of the year God’s calling was clear – The need is growing, we must grow and help restore more teens and their families to wholeness through His incredible power.
Instead of the 1.2 million dollar goal, we announced in September that we were looking to raise 1.5 million before January 1st, 2121, to enter this year with full confidence to increase our capacity through a transition home to open at the end of this January. (If this is the first time you’re hearing about the transition home, you can read more at www.rocksolidrefuge.com/transition-home.)
In all, in the year 2020, our donors gave $1,341,324!
Though this didn’t hit our 1.5 million dollar goal, we are incredibly grateful for your support and are cautiously optimistic as we prayerfully move forward with opening the transition home. Already this year, weather proofed windows have been installed as well as a modest security system to help ensure the safety of these young men.
Again, if this is the first you have heard of the transition home, I’d encourage you to learn more by visiting www.rocksolidrefuge.com/transition-home. We are excited for the opportunity to work with more students and will keep you up to date on this incredible project.
Our team is already lining things up for the 2020 tax receipts to be processed. We’ll be working hard to ensure those are in your hands before the end of February.
Thank you, again, for your ongoing support and generosity and we hope to see you some time in 2021. God Bless!
