Easter 2020, Dallas’ Greeting
Jesus is Risen, Risen Indeed!!!
In our chapels here at Rock Solid Refuge we are going through the book of John. In John chapter 2, right at the start of Jesus’ ministry, He clears the temple with a whip He made, chasing people and animals out declaring “Take these things away; do not make my Father’s house a house of trade.”
The Jews asked what sign He would do to prove His authority? He said, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.” This He said referring to His death and resurrection.
In 1 Corinthians 15 Paul puts forward the argument that everything about our faith as Christians hinges on the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
- That He was buried, that He was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures.
- He appeared to more than five hundred brothers at one time.
- If Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile, and you are still in your sins.
- If in Christ we have hope in this life only, we are of all people most to be pitied.
- But, in fact, Christ has been raised from the dead!
Every day, we fight for hope to be made new and restored in the lives of our students and their families. Our God has given us ultimate hope both for this life and the life to come, through Jesus Christ. Our sins can actually be forgiven. Our relationships can be restored. The chains of our addictions and bondages can be broken and we can live free from the penalty of sin, the power of sin, and free to serve God and neighbour with genuine love. It is my prayer that you experience the resurrection power and presence of God.
Many of you are wondering how we are doing through the COVID-19 crisis. God has continued to give us the privilege of working with our students and their families uninterrupted. It goes without saying that it has created some challenges, and some necessary adjustments. In-person family visits are suspended, local church and community involvement is suspended for staff and students, and our partnership with Millar College and their field education team has ended for this year as well. God has chosen to protect us from the COVID-19 virus, for which we are very grateful.
Thank you so much for your continued prayer and support. You are blessing us more than you can imagine. If God has blessed you to be able to give, this is a time of financial challenge for us. Please consider how you can partner with us to meet the needs of our students and their families.
We hope that this content has been informative and helpful. It is our desire to help families and bring struggling teens back together. We encourage you to share this information with others who may be in need.
Our ministry is primarily funded by our supporters, both individuals and churches, who partner with us to bring about restoration in these young men’s lives. To join them in supporting Rock Solid Refuge and our ongoing ministry, please click here to donate!
Thank you for your support.
